Populate fields before displaying on a web page
Would anyone be able to comment on the viability and performance issues related to the following:
Business goal - Display to the web site user, which state and item will ship from. The preferred location can change on an hourly basis due to stock levels.
Business requirement - On an Item Drilldown Template, display the State field from the Preferred Location.
The proposed technical solution
1) Create custitem_ship_from_state -- set "Store Value" to false
2) Via SuiteScript set the value for custitem_ship_from_state = PreferredLocation.State
First, can this be done?
Second, is there a performance hit under high traffic that would make this a silly idea?
