Updating a Custom Record - Changing ID

Hi,

I'm trying to update a custom record, every other field i want to set works fine.

However i also want to change the ID of the Custom Record (not the internal id), but i just cannot get it to change.

i've tried to set the ID to 2 using recordid as you can see from the code line below:-

partnerCustRec.setFieldValue('recordid', '2');


But it just doesnt seem to change the record, i have overide turned on, on the numbering tab for this custom record as well.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks
