UI Object confusion

edited Dec 2, 2019 6:18PM in SuiteCloud / Customization 4 comments

I need to learn more about the UI object functionality. Can someone help by answering the following likely simple questions for a newbie?

1. UI Objects added. Where do they go on submit? I suspect they are truly "UI-only" and that you would need to pull any entered information into valid form fields to save with the record. Anyone know for sure?

2. UI Object Form (nlObjForm). I can see how I can grab the form object from the passed parameter in a beforeLoad event but is there anyway to get this same form object from client-side? For example, I want to create a select list and populate it with some data, however, during the course of the user/client interaction, I would want to add in new options (or remove some though I see no way to do this through any exposed object API) and would need (I suspect) access to the nlObjForm to do so. How do I get that object

Howdy, Stranger!
