Custom buttons on Case screen to create Sales Order and RMA
In our process for warranty fulfillment, we have a use case wherein customer service reps need to create a sales order from the case page. Has anyone had success in opening a new record (sales order, or other transaction) using a custom button that pre-populates the customer info similar to the doNewAction(sales order) function on the customer page?
My goal is to have the button open a new sales order, populate the customer info from the Case and populate a custom field on the sales order with the case number.
As indicated above, I am starting by looking into the Create New bar functions native to most of the entry and transaction forms. Any input is greatly appreciated.
