How to set a default form when creating a case with script

I'm creating cases using a SuiteScript I wrote. I would like to associate the case with a custom form, so that whenever someone opens this particular kind of case, it opens with the custom form and not the default form. I know that I can select "Store Form with Record" from the Custom Entry Form page, but I think I need to create the record with the custom form to make that option work. Does anyone have any suggestions?
