Inventory details subrecords

We have a requirement to push data(member items) into a sub record in workorder record(parent). So when user goes to create new work order, clicks the body field "Inventory Details" in work order screen, he can see those changes in the sub record.

Can it be done when we create a work order(page load)?

Can any one suggest something here?
