Search on list values in suitescripts

Hi,

I have a drop down with some values, Type 1, Type 2 etc.

When I use the following the search returns all customer records:
new nlobjSearchFilter("custentity_sales_type" , null , "anyof" , "Type 1");

But, when I use the internal id in the list it returns filtered customers:
new nlobjSearchFilter("custentity_sales_type" , null , "anyof" , "2");

How can I search based on the text value of the drop-down list and not the internal id of the selected value?
