CSV Imports of Custom Record Type

Hello,
   Can someone please assist me with this issue?  I am new with NetSuite and have been given a task to add a couple of fields into a custom record type for an item fulfillment.  Added the fields and can see them but when I imported the data using the record type, it does not display under the item subtab in the fulfillment page.  What am I doing wrong?
