I have a custom field called "Updates" that appears on the task and call forms.  We routinely update it as part of a search (thus the need for a custom field - you can't update the comment filed on a search). 

I recently changed the field type from "Free-form text" to "long text" to give users more room for information.  Upon doing this, however, we can no longer view the previous contents of the field in system notes - instad we see:

old value: 33 chars
new value: 147 Chars


Is there a way to display the full contents of the field in the system notes?
