Global Search Overrides Custom Search

I just saw a new search behavior today, to my dismay. (FYI, I'm on 10.0.0.6, not 2007.0)

I had multiple NetSuite tabs open in Firefox, which is key to my productivity. In one tab I was in the process of building a custom search. All was going great. I switched to a different tab and searched for a transaction in the global search box. So far so good. The kicker...

I switched back to my first tab, and clicked the Return to Criteria button. Instead of my lovely search, I got a weird (unfamiliar) screen that was titled Global Search, it had the global search I just entered in the other tab, and buttons for Submit, Export, Reset, Customize, Create Saved Search.
