Item Rate in customer search

Is there anyway to display the item rate in a customer search.
Ideally I would like to have a search of multiple customers with their item listed and the rate.

I know I can do this on the transaction side but I dont want it based off transactions. Say I want to preview a rate for a customer who has not been billed yet, I would need to go through invoicing to preview out.....
