Help with Formula

I have a grouped search with formulas

Column 1:get the count of orders

Column 2: formula to get the number of months passed from a date
TRUNC (MONTHS_BETWEEN({today},{customer.custentity_xxx_date}))

Column 3:difference between Column 1 & 2
(TO_NUMBER (count({number})))-(TO_NUMBER (TRUNC(MONTHS_BETWEEN({today},{customer.custentity_xxx_date}))-1))

Column 1 & 2 returns the desired result, but column 3 is not giving the result and its throwing error. I also tried without the TO_NUMBER function with no luck.

Is anything wrong here?
