Subscription Category mandatory in 2010.1?

Noticed that when you schedule a marketing campaign, the Subscription Category is now mandatory. This select field was not mandatory in 2009.2 and now that it is mandatory, we won't be able to deliver our marketing communications.

I have searched hi and low, but nowhere in the help documents is this field now mentioned as being mandatory. Am I missing something?
