Generic Object Interface

Force.com has a Partner WSDL that allows non-typed (meta data driven) access to objects in Salesforce (using SObject rather than specific types), allowing for consistent access to all object types and query results (standard and customer) and fields (standard and custom).  Does NetSuite have a similar interface?  My initial review only shows a type-safe interface.
