I would be curious to see if any contractors are using Netsuite. I have seen very little in the way of any sort of job cost tracking by project, not to mention over/under billing calculations or AIA progress billing forms. I would certainly be grateful if anyone could tell me if about any successes with this.

It works. Thanks.

We use direct deposit, but go through our bank software to do it. I just use the date as a check number and print the checks on blank paper.
-
You mean like the year?
-
Payroll reports, including W-2s, 1099s, and 941s do not seem to be very high on Netsuite's priority list. They don't usually have these ready in advance. Since the 1st quarter 941 is not due for more than a month, maybe they plan on fixing it next month.

Bodacious....thanks

Since you invoice the client for $100, it seems like that is your revenue, and you have an expense of $40 when you pay your partner. Gross profit is $60. Tom
-
That does make a difference.

We are getting close to announcing our planned changes, if any. Thanks, -e Have there been any updates to this?
-
In response to customer feedback, we are keeping basic payroll. There may be new pricing. Please discuss with your account manager upon renewal. Thanks, -e Wonderful. Thanks.

I would also like to know. Tom

Ray pretty well summed it up for me, too. If basic payroll goes, it will be just one more reason for us not to stay with NetSuite. Tom

I appreciate Netsuite's trying to help us out, but there are so many more things we need than this, things like real profitability by invoice or customer. Next time, how about listening to us when we tell you what we want instead of giving us something you all think we need. Tom Venable Controller Katch Construction Supply…

Is help with setting this up a service that your company could provide?

Construction accounting generally requires a robust discrete job costing system. Costs need to be segregated not only by job, but by the particular phase of the job as well, such as concrete, carpentry, general conditions, etc. as well as by the type of cost such as labor with taxes and insurance, materials, subcontractor,…

Is everyone as excited as I am about dealing with another poorly tested release?
-
How about payroll software that will actually fill out schedule B of form 941 as well as state unemployment tax forms?
-
This has been going on for quite a while. https://usergroup.netsuite.com/users/showthread.php?t=54&highlight=gross+profit

It would be great to track profit for non-inventory items as well as profit by invoice.
-
Amen, brother.

It's all ahead dead slow for us here, too. It wouldn't be as frustrating if I didn't have a lot to do. We had hoped that changing my connection from wireless to hard wire would help, but I don't notice any real change. I sure hope they fix this soon. We need MORE SPEED>
-
That would be bodacious.
-
Does this mean that there is now a way to track profitability by either salesman, customer, or invoice?
-
You won't want to hear this but... After repeated requests to Netsuite, and also after many postings on this forum, we decided that the only way for us to figure this out was to do it ourselves. So we keep an Excel worksheet by month and we manually enter data that is important to us from every invoice we generate. Don't…

I usually do not do the bank recs, but did this month because of vacations. I agree strongly that it could be a lot better.
-
There is a downside to this here and there.

I just got through talking with Karen. She agrees with my assessment, but she is unable to reproduce this error since she is using version 2007 and I am still on 11.0.6. We are supposed to upgrade to version 2007 this Friday and we are hoping that this upgrade will fix the problem.

Hi Thom, I have asked the Team Lead of our Payroll Support que look into your statement. As a general rule we advise folks based on their questions that we are given with what they are trying to achieve. As with accounting questions, we try to only answer questions as they relate to what customer are trying to achieve in…
