You can go to Asset -> Depreciation History -> View (Asset Status = Depreciating) and delete the Journals that were posted. The other option would be to reverse those Depreciation JEs and inactivate the Asset.

If you are the owner of the Custom Record / Field / Workflow, then the testing using a Custom Role is often inaccurate, as NetSuite is still treating you as an Administrator. Could you ask someone else to test it with a Custom Role? Or, can you temporarily set someone else as the Owner?
