Conversion Cost for MFG Items

When I run a Costed BOM Inquiry, I'm able to get the break down of my conversion cost and my material costs. I'd like to use the values in some other searches/reports I'm doing. is there anyway to get these values and store them on the item record? I'm open to scripting this, but can't even wrap my brain around where to start with it.
