Lot Traceability search or report

We are in need of full lot traceability.  We have some assemblies that have components that have lot numbers in multiple levels "deep".  We want to be able to search on a lot number and see all the assemblies it was used in and ultimately see the customers that were sold products that included items made from a specific lot number. I am struggling with how to accomplish this ... Has anyone created a saved search or report that helps with full lot traceability?
