Demand Planning - Demand Source Question

edited Nov 28, 2019 3:28PM in Accounting / ERP 1 comment

Requirement is to use Forecast from Demand Plan for all Assembly and Inventory Items.

However, sometimes a new customer places a huge initial order for a future date.

Seeking ideas about how to handle that particular scenario.

They would want to persist the Demand Plan calculations based on historical transaction data, but somehow handle the scenario for the large future order(s).

I know we can modify the individual item demand plan but of course it will get over-written when the demand plan is refreshed. The only thing I have come up with is to filter certain items on the Generate Demand Plan for items flagged as "variable" (custom field on item record) so the user can run the Generate Demand Plan and exclude those items.

Howdy, Stranger!
