Workflow Feature Request - Non-record bound Action Scripts
Imagine my surprise when 3 minutes ago I realized that Custom Action Scripts are bound to a record type. I was just getting ready to develop a parameterized, generic Action Script to send faxes. We merge and fax from 5-6 different record types and I had planned on setting all the necessary context-specific parameters from the workflow and then letting my generic "faxer action" do it's thing.
Don't cry for me though, I'll be OK, it really just means I will have 5-6 deployments to manage.
It would be great though if we had non-record bound actions that we could throw into a workflow. Why not pass the record type and id to the method? Really, why not?
