Possible to close a record from a workflow?

Folks,

As part of our Return Authorization 'nag' workflow reminding users that their returns have not yet been received in our warehouse, we'd like to be able to close RMAs that have expired. I believe the functionality I'm looking to reproduce is that of the 'Close' button, which closes out each line item in the record.

Is this possible?
