Remove a standard Button

I have a custom record that I have made available to the customer portal.  I want to remove the standard netsuite "make copy" button from the form when the customer edits the record.

I'm using a workflow, and want to use the "remove button" action.  However, when I choose it, there are no buttons available in the drop down list.  When I read the help, it says that I should be able to remove standard netsuite buttons with a workflow.  How do I do this?  Anyone else have this issue?
