Notify user when editing a record that is already being edited by another user?

I'm pretty new to workflows...I was wondering if anyone had any success with creating a workflow (or using any other NetSuite function) that would generate a warning to a user who goes to edit a transaction that is already being edited by another user?

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!
