Adding hours to a time in WF

I want to simply add hours to a time of day field in a SuiteFlow work flow but it's not cooperating. I tried the "({custom field internal id} +( X / 24 ) )" route but it just returns the {custom field internal id}. Anybody know how to do this or can send me a link to some definitive guidance?
