Transforming Records
In my continued effort to make the sales teams' lives easier, I am trying to eliminate redundant entries, in addition to making our forms more intuitive. To this end, I am creating a workflow that will place a button at the top of the Opportunity record titled "Create Sales Order" that performs a "Transform Record" action. I know this functionality already exists via the Create New icon, but I'm trying to make it more "visible" to the Sales Reps.
It works fairly well, except I cannot get any dates to pull from the Opp to the Sales Order. What I need is to get two fields from the Opp (expectedclosedate and custbody_oppenddt) to the Sales Order (startdate and enddate).
