Case Form Changing On After Submit

Hello,

We have an online case form that we use for customers to create cases with us.  When the form is submitted, it uses the case form that is set to Preferred.  Store Form with Record is also turned on for this form.

We recently created a workflow that would fill in a field for us once the case is submitted.  This action was set to run on after submit.  We noticed however that this would somehow cause the form stored with the record to change.  Instead of using the preferred case form, it is now using a separate form that looks completely different.
