Linking projects to sales order line items

Hello. I would like to generate a project from a line item on a sales order. I setup my service item and checked the create job check box. I can link the project to the sales order form but not to the individual line items. If I try to customize my transaction form, Job is grayed out under columns. Any thoughts?
