Advanced Project - Task Management

Does anyone have any experience with automating the setting or the start date or order date for sales orders containing service items with project tasks ?

I would like to take orders in the web store for a service and allow customers to select the date for the service (and therefore our tasks relative to this selected date), however it would seem that netsuite sets the date to the day of ordering.

Also has anyone automated the creation of tasks from sales orders rather than creating them manually?
