Where is the WBS Number in Advanced Projects?
I must be missing something.
I cannot find a field for the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) number (WBS#) anywhere on the Advanced Projects form, or on the Project Task form.
Yet there is extensive discussion in the Online Help about "Work Breakdown Structure".
Organizing your projects and tasks by WBS# is Project Mgt 101. This has been used in Project Mgt for at least 50 years.
If you've used MS Project, then you should be familiar with WBS#.
Surely I am just overlooking this field.
I know we can add a custom field for WBS#. Easy enough.
But to use correctly, the WBS# will need to be validated, calculated, and/or maintained by code. Because the WBS# for a Project Task, or Sub-Project must be unique, and must derive its prefix from its parent Task or Project. Thus the script to do this is not a trivial task.
