Search that shows employee with the most hours worked on a project

I'm trying to create a saved search that lists project name and the employee that worked the most hours on it for a certain period-anybody do this before? I want to send an email to these people. I'm tried dense_rank() based on this help page (https://netsuite.custhelp.com/app/an.../kw/dense_rank) but wouldn't work.

I want to sort time entries by employee for a certain period on a certain project, sum them by employee, then just show the highest.
