Project Start Date prefilling with today's date

Is it default NS behavior that the start date on the project entry form is prefilling with today's date? I can't seem to find anywhere we've set it up to do that specifically. Do I need to use suitescript to clear that value? We want our project managers to conciously enter a date here, because the date we create the record is almost never the date the work starts.
