Adding Multiple Clients to a Project

I would like to add multiple clients to one project, to be able to bill/invoice them for a particular conference held under a specific project.

Another example is that we have many different funders/clients that contribute to a particular piece of research or education attached to one project.

Does anyone have a solution to account for this 'out of the box' or do we need to ask our solution provider to customise our NetSuite installation?
