Transferring items between subsidiaries
We went with One World to make sure we could have independent financials, but items and customers are linked into one system. I am trying to figure out how to transfer inventory costs, and money when inventory moves between subs without recognizing revenue. These locations are not elimination, as they both have to report their own financials and taxes. (100% different ownership)
Example:
Sub A has Widget 1 with cost of $50.
Sub B needs this item.
Sub A GL Impact:
Debit to Receivables $50
Credit to Inventory - Widget 1 $50
Sub B GL impact:
Debit to Inventory - Widget 1 $50
Credit to Payable $50
