Parent/Child Formatting in Lists

I have a number of Subsidiaries in my company and many times I have to remember what place some of them fall in the Parent/Child list.  I've seen scripts to take away the Parent/Child formatting in other Entity types; however, is there a way to mask that and just get the Child in my drop down lists?
