Formula needed for additions to inventory

I am not sure if there is another way to do this inside Netsuite but i would like to have a saved search that reports any additions to our inventory on a daily basis.  I need this report to make sure our return processes are being done correctly.  I am thinking that there would have to be a formula that would check the on hand quantity for yesterday and the day we are running the report.  Are there any formula magicians out there that would know how to do this?
