Freight from Web Order Updating the customer freight preference!

We have default Freight Shipping Methods set at the customer record.  Unfortunately we are running a promo that for orders over $199 they get free 2nd day shipping.  Unfortunately NetSuite is updating the customer record with the shipping method the customer selected AND is not adding that update to the system notes so I do not know the magnitude of which customers were changed and what their original method was (other than reviewing past transactions)

Is there a way to STOP NetSuite from changing the customer record?
