Clones Going away?

I just received an e-mail from Netsuite, announcing that all clones are being purged the first of the year.  I have a call out to my rep, but does anyone know if this is all (ie testing) clones?  Am I correct in thinking We will only have our actual working database?  This is really going to aggravate my boss, as we test everything before going live with changes.
