Writer needs help: did case studies influence your purchasing decision

Obviously this isn't in the right forum, because there's no right forum for it...

I'm a writer (and Netsuite user for a small business I run on the side) doing a piece on how people use case studies as part of their purchasing decisions.

Did you read case studies of other netsuite users before purchasing? How important were they in making the decision or influencing other decision-makers?

Do you read them now? Why? and what do you gain from them?
