Dropship combined with standard fulfillment

I have looked in multiple posts and found similar threads but there is a specific case that I have not located.

We will stock Widget A in our warehouse and we will also drop ship Widget A from our vendor's warehouse.

Scenarios:
1) In order to properly estimate shipping costs, we intend to use multiple locations (warehouses). One for our warehouse and one for each of our vendors warehouses.
2) If we have no stock in our warehouse, we need to know if our vendor has stock in their warehouse. If they do not, then we need to pull the item from our web site.
