How do you handle large client records?

Greetings All,

I was wondering how more experienced NetSuite users manage very large client companies?  Companies like DuPont USA, Grainger, Honeywell, etc. where they have many locations and personnel scattered throughout the country/world.  Any advice or pointers are greatly appreciated our current methods look as though they will lead to trouble.  Thank you.
