Why do Purchase Orders have a category but Sales Orders don't?

I was going through the SuiteScript reference and noticed that a purchase order has a category but Sales Order doesn't.  Why?  I can't think of a good reason and as I'm creating a custom field for category I'm a bit miffed it isn't already there.  Maybe I'm missing something?
