Dilema with Inactive Online Items
We have a problem with inactive online items, and I'm not sure the what's the best way to address it.
We have online items that we've had to make inactive. We created re-directs to the new items that replaced them.
But if a customer logs in, and clicks the 'Re-order Items' link from the Customer Center, the inactive item is displayed, along with the Add-to-Cart' button. But b/c it's inactive, it won't add to the cart. The cart page displays, but it's empty, and with NO "Your cart is empty" message. Then, sometimes (but not always) if the customer clicks the 'Continue Shopping', or 'My Account' tab, or the Back button, they recieve this error:
