How can I close opportunities that expired?

I need to close a lot of opportunties since they expired. I tried with "mass update" option, I set the "Opportunity status" field to "Close Lost", however the Document Status did not change, it still appears as "In progress". The opportunity isn't Closed to Netsuite.
