Sourcing for Auto Numbering
Has anyone ever figured out a way to source the prefix or suffix for Auto numbering. For instance, you want to use a sales reps initials as the prefix on quotes. You could source from the employee record to auto populate this information. However, Netsuite support says this cannot be done.
We have 20 sales reps using Netsuite and we don't currently use auto numbering because it doesn't seem to be that intelligent. As a result, we often get the error that an estimate number is already in use (probably because two different reps tried to create a quote at the same time). If they were separated by user as the prefix this wouldn't happen.
