Units of Measure
I've been using Units of Measure ("UoM") for various liquid items and it's gone really well. I've created a couple more specialty UoM tables for other items and they have gone equally well.
Now I face a bit of a design question. I'm not at the point where I need to setup a simple UoM for purchasing items in cases. For example, we purchase WidgetXYZ in cases of 10, stock as single items and sell as single items.
Pretty basic scenario. Due to the rigid nature of UoM (can't change the base type, can't change the UoM on item records once used in transaction, etc) I'm REALLY taking my time setting this up. I don't want to do it twice.
