Anyone who is thinking of using Information Items
Do not use them. Use regular items and update their templates. Netsuite says info items are for articles, news and so on. The only advantage of info items is that you can exclude them from search. There is no other advantages.
You can't add custom fields to information items. You can't add scripts to them, you can't.... the list goes on.
I am really frustrated because our testimonials are information items and I am trying to generate a list of them and randomly display them through the website. I was able to get this to work but only with regular items. So if you are just starting to design your website and planning to have some customizations, use regular items for everything!
