Role for SuiteScript developer

Hello everyone.
Wanted to get everyone's thoughts on role for suite script developer.
I initially thought about customizing System Admin role to create suite script developer role but wanted to get your thoughts on this.

We don't want the developer to be able to see the financial data but as a developer, they need to be able to have atleast an read only access to records.
Any way to block out the numbers only?

How do you guys have the role set up for suite script developers?
