What are your saved search query optimization tips?

I have a saved search that occasionally times out. Not good. What are your best tips for how to optimize performance on a saved search query?

Here is one from the NetSuite Basics Guide:

Avoid using "contains." Use "starts with" or "keywords" instead when it's possible.


Regarding searches that time out, BrettKnights says:


[LIST]doing an "any of" status query tends to return results quickly but "none of" status queries tend to cause this issue.[/LIST]
[LIST]adding an "on or after" date query tends to clean up this issue.[/LIST]
