Hyperlink in Excel workbook won't open without login

I was asked why it is that when I have a hyperlink to a NetSuite entity in an Outlook email, and I'm currently logged into NetSuite, the link opens a new tab or window and takes me right to the entity.  But if the hyperlink is saved in Excel or Word it will open a new browser tab or window, but says my session has timed out and asks me to log in.

The goal is to use the links in an Excel workbook without having to log in each time.
