Clearance items for wholesale/distribution company without website

We are trying to sell slow moving inventory via "Clearance Pricing". We do not have a website so we do not see the field onSpecial.

Would anyone have suggestions on another field that is designed to handle marking an item as Clearance and the clearance price?

My plan is to add:
ClearanceDate = datetime item went on clearance, logged
ClearanceReason = List, logged

We will mark the Clearance fields and then execute mass price update for those items where ClearanceDate = Today.
